How to find Hawkwood Nursery

The nursery is at the very top of Hawkwood Crescent and has large iron gates at the entrance. Hawkwood Crescent is a turning off Sewardstone Road (A112).
Buses, trains and bicycles to Hawkwood
The site is easily reached by public transport or bike.
- From Chingford train station: Outside the station board bus 379, which runs every 15 minutes or every 30 minutes on a Sunday. Get off at Yardley Primary School on Hawkwood Crescent, which is at the very end of Drysdale Avenue, and it’s a two-minute walk from there.
- From Walthamstow Central underground: Take bus 215 from Walthamstow Central bus station, which goes via Hoe Street, The Bell, Billet Roundabout and Chingford Mount. Get off on Sewardstone Road, at the Hawkwood Crescent stop. Cross this main road and walk up Hawkwood Crescent. The nursery is about a five-minute walk, from the bus stop to the end of Hawkwood Crescent.
- Other local buses: The 313 stops at the end of Drysdale Avenue. This bus connects to Potters Bar, Enfield, Southbury and Ponders End train stations. The walk from this bus stop takes around ten minutes along Drysdale Avenue.
- By bicycle: Follow the River Lea towpath, which runs from lower Walthamstow and North Hackney (Clapton). Leave the path just before Ponders End lock and turn right into Lea Valley Road. Turn left at the main traffic light junction into Stewardstone Road. Hawkwood Crescent is a turning about 500m along on the right.
- Walk through the woods from Chingford station: It’s a beautiful walk through Epping Forest to Hawkwood Nursery and takes about 20 minutes
Parking: for those who come by car, please bear in mind that we have limited parking on site, prioritised for those with access needs, so you may need to park off site and walk in.
