A workers' cooperative growing food on London's edge in the Lea Valley

OrganicLea’s Forest School

Forest Time is OrganicLea’s homegrown forest school for families, run on our beautiful and abundant 12 acre food growing site, Hawkwood Plant Nursery.

Our fun, creative, adventurous and fully outdoor sessions are designed to support connections – to ourselves, to each other, and to Earth. Sessions are:

  • run on forest school principles
  • based in free play & community-building
  • run using a wealth of nature-based crafts, seasonal food growing knowledge, campfire cooking & warming, bushcraft skills, songs & games
  • deeply integrated with the rhythms of OrganicLea’s horticultural and ecology work

Our forest schools run for three 7 week terms throughout the year. Details will be published on our website home page.

We are offering 2 hour Friday morning and afternoon sessions:

  • 9.45am – 11.45am: open to all pre-schoolers (from walking) and their grown-ups (younger siblings are also welcome)
  • 13.15pm – 15.15pm: open to all 4-7 years olds and their grown-ups (younger siblings are also welcome)

Our 7 week terms costs £112 (£8 per child, £8 per adult per session). Additional sibling tickets cost £5 from walking, or are free for sibling crawlers or siblings in arms.

We are committed to keeping sessions accessible for all families. We offer a number of reduced cost places for families on a low income. Also feel free to get in touch if it is difficult for you to pay for all 7 sessions in one go.
