The Build Camp for our woodland classroom has begun! After a long winter of preparation and planning, the first team started this week on building the woodland classroom. They’ve been stripping the wood, scribing joints and the putting the first posts of the framework in place. It’s exciting to see it taking shape.
There are still some places available on the build camp if you’d like to join it: find all the details and how to apply here. And see Adrian’s Wholewoods website for more information about mind-bogglingly beautiful reciprocal-framed roundwood buildings and how they are built.
There will also be opportunities for more occasional participation for regular volunteers and on open days during the build for certain key tasks – we’ll advertise them here and on our email list.
The larch wood arrived from Gloucestershire. We’ve used concrete that was taken out of our glasshouses to make the foundations for the structural posts and the cordwood wall . We’ve started improving the path to ensure the roundhouse is accessible for everyone.
