Join us on Sunday 27 May for our Open Day which includes a spring arts trail around our 12 acre food growing site in Chingford. Expect storytelling, puppetry and music with violin, guitar and accordion. And of course plants, compost, and delicious seasonal refreshments too! Details of all the activities below:
Seasonal Blitz morning: our weekend volunteering opportunity, join us at 9.45 for a 10am-1pm session. We advise sturdy shoes and you are welcome to stay for the Hawkwood monthly Open Day afterwards.
11-1: Kids Kitchen join Claudia for her engaging morning session getting children to cook up their own seasonal feast .. and eat it together! Places are limited for this and there is a small fee to cover costs – book online here, select bookings, then Organiclea.
12-3: Spring Arts Trail Can you find all the performers and discover the amazing range of fruit and vegetables growing along the way? Something for all ages, come ready for the outdoors. Supported by LBWF’s Arts Development Grants program.
All afternoon (12 – 4) Coffee, cake and delicious locally grown lunch, our bar will be serving amazing Hawkwood-made wine, our farm stall has Hawkwood produce jams, pickles, vinegars and herbal teas for sale.
All afternoon (12-4) Plant stall with a wide range of vegetable, herb, salad, flower and fruit plants. Get growing tips and advice too. Compost giveaway – bring your own sacks to take away free greenwaste compost (amount per household generous but not unlimited!).
Site tours will also take place during the afternoon (1.30 and 3) – find out more about Organiclea’s work and what’s happening on the Hawkwood site.
