Two Seasonal Grower Roles
Part time: 1 day per week-Tuesdays
Salary: £106.40 per day
Based at: Hawkwood Community Plant Nursery
Organiclea is seeking to recruit two seasonal growers to join our dedicated food production team, based at Hawkwood, our 12 acre market garden. We are looking for individuals with experience of commercial organic vegetable production in a community setting.
The Intensive Garden Seasonal Grower will support the work on Hawkwood’s newest growing area, the Spring Field Intensive Garden, on Tuesdays from June through September. The purpose of this growing space is to demonstrate the crop selection and growing techniques that could be used on a quarter acre plot to provide growers with a living wage, without the need for grants, expensive equipment, or a managed volunteer programme.
The Seasonal Harvest Worker will support the work of the Tuesday harvest team during its busiest season, July through October. Summer and autumn sees the team harvesting and packaging more than a thousand portions of vegetables and salads every week. This is a role that requires a dedication to working quickly while maintaining high quality standards.
Deadline for expressions of interest: 1 pm Tuesday 14th May 2024
Interview date set for: Tuesday 21st May 2024
Start Dates: Tuesday 4th June 2024 (Intensive Garden Seasonal Grower) and Tuesday 2nd July 2024 (Seasonal Harvest Worker)
