New! We can now offer our compost for delivery to local postcodes (E4, E10, E11, E10, E17, IG8 and IG9).
Our compost is hand-mixed and bagged on our Hawkwood site by our production team with the support of learners and volunteers. It is 100% peat-free; certified organic by the Soil Association; certified veganic by the Vegan Organic Network and the result of over 20 years of perfecting the recipe. We believe it to be the most sustainable and affordable compost available in Waltham Forest. We are currently trialing compostable bags but you may still receive your compost in a plastic bag while we finish our old stock. The bags are hand-tied with cuttings from a New Zealand Flax plant and delivered to your door by an electric van, or available to be collected.
We have three different types of hand-mixed compost available: seed, potting-on and container compost, available in 10, 20 and 40 litre bags (approx). We also have green waste compost, Soil Association approved, in 40 litres.
You can order here or buy from our Farm Stall on site.
Our compost is and has always been peat-free, since peat extraction is so very damaging to the environment, and peatlands are a vital carbon store. Action to end the sale of peat compost has been far too slow. Read more about the amazing properties of peatlands and the need for urgent action from the Wildlife Trusts and Friends of the Earth.
