A workers' cooperative growing food on London's edge in the Lea Valley

February Open Day: seed swap and fair trade

Sunday 23 February at Hawkwood Plant Nursery
At this month’s open day we have a seed swap hosted in collaboration with the London Freedom Seed Bank – a chance to bring, take, and talk about seeds at the start of this growing season, and to learn more about why harvesting seed is so important in a just and sustainable food system. As it’s Fair Trade Fortnight we’re also hosting Zaytoun, a social enterprise that was founded to support Palestinian producers, and their co-founder will be giving a talk about regenerative farming, Fair Trade and daily life in Palestine.
The open day will include our usual tea, cake and coffee, a seasonal lunch, and a farm stall stocked with fresh and preserved goods. We’ll have family activities, and a site tour will be focused on fruit.
