Open Day, Sunday 26 March, 12-4pm, Hawkwood Nursery
This Open Day falls on Easter Sunday so we’re celebrating with (egg-shaped) potatoes, and the fertility of the seed.
Bring your seeds to swap, pick up some potatoes ready to go in the ground (potato planting is traditionally a Good Friday activity but it can stretch over the whole of Easter we think!). There’s no forest school but the usual amazing cakes and coffee, freshly prepared lunch, and opportunity to enjoy this beautiful site in its spring budding.
Seed swap drop in from 12-1, potato growing workshop and games at 2pm.
Timetable for the day
12-4 All day coffee, cake and delicious locally grown lunch served, plus a farm stall for buying Hawkwood produce, jams, chutneys, juice and vinegars
12-1 Drop-in seed swap – bring your spare seeds to share and pick up some new ones
2-3 Potato growing workshop – learn all about chitting your potatoes ready for growing, and how to get a good crop. With an Easter-themed game!
3-4 Site tour – introducing Organiclea’s work and the site’s growing highlights
